The Scholar as Architect: Welcoming Xorah Cole to the Mosaic Board of Directors
The strength of any "Village" is found in the quality of its foundations. As we continue to build the architecture for our Fall 2026 launch, we are beyond thrilled to officially announce that Xorah (Zora) Cole has joined the Board of Directors for The Mosaic Collective as our Co-Director for Academic Programming.
Building Foundations from the Ground Up
Xorah is much more than a scholar; she is a builder. With a background in Early Childhood Education, she understands the critical neurological and social milestones that form a student’s earliest experiences. She recognizes that for a child to succeed in the "Secondary" years, the primary foundation must be rooted in equity and engagement.
However, her vision extends far beyond the early years. As a student of Bible and Theology with a minor in Biblical Languages, Xorah brings a level of academic rigor and linguistic depth that is essential for bridging the "Secondary Gap" we’ve identified in the alternative education space.
A "Whole Student" Philosophy
At The Mosaic Collective, we often say that "Innovation in Teaching" means seeing the student as a complete human being. Xorah embodies this philosophy. She understands that true education is a three-fold process:
Socially: Building a sense of belonging and community.
Morally: Rooting education in truth and spiritual grounding.
Intellectually: Pursuing academic excellence with a "learner at heart" spirit.
The Intersection of Art and Academia
In addition to her academic pursuits, Xorah is a creative—a graphic designer and amateur artist who isn't afraid to experiment with bright colors and new mediums. This artistic lens is a vital component of our Innovation in Teaching framework. It ensures that our academic programming remains vibrant, imaginative, and reflective of the "Mosaic" of identities we serve.
Looking Toward Fall 2026
As Co-Director for Academic Programming, Xorah will play a pivotal role in shaping the Scope and Sequence of our 6–12th grade pathways. Her dedication to ensuring every child has access to an equitable education—one that allows them to develop in their unique, intentional design—is exactly what the Mosaic Standard requires.
Xorah, we are honored to have your vision, your heart, and your scholarly pursuit leading our village.
Welcome to the Board! 🚀✨
