Lesson 01: The Preparation Phase Mind, Body, & Nutrition
About This Lesson
Nutrition is our first act of resistance—a way to stop building the health fortress alone and start building it together. In this chapter, we move beyond simple calorie counting to establish a Kitchen Covenant, a shared family commitment to fueling our bodies as a powerful defense against systemic disparities. Defense against disparities is specifically tailored for Black and brown women, acknowledging the unique health landscapes we navigate and reclaiming our agency in the face of historical and systemic inequities. By prioritizing whole-body nourishment, we aren't just eating; we are counteracting the "weathering" effects of external stress and building a nutritional foundation that shields our entire lineage.
This collective defense extends into every part of our daily lives through the Endurance Pact and Protecting My Peace. We recognize that a strong body and a quiet mind are not luxuries, but essential tools for the journey of motherhood and beyond. The Endurance Pact serves as our family’s promise to pursue consistent movement and physical strength, while Protecting My Peace establishes stress management as a non-negotiable right. Together, these three pillars transform our wellness routines into a multi-generational legacy of power, protection, and liberation. When the village moves in sync—nourishing, strengthening, and resting—we ensure that every family has the resilience to thrive.
